I have a buyer who did a shipping quote. The thing is, their address is in Chinese. If I go to create a label, USPS will want it in English, but will the postal carriers in Taiwan be able to read it then?
The UPU (Universal Postal Union, which is something to do with the UN) recommends that the address be given in the language of the country of origin. If the destination country uses a different alphabetic writing system (e.g. Cyrillic), it is also recommended to include the full address in that system. In all cases, to aid progress through transit countries, the name of the destination country should be included in an internationally recognised language (e.g. English, French, etc.).
That said, I have previously sent packages to Hong Kong, Russia and Bulgaria using just the English-version address without issue, and these three countries don't use the Roman alphabet.
Select the country of destination and it'll show you how to correctly address a letter/package. Curiously though it doesn't show Taiwan, at least if it does I can't find it - probably because they're not a full member of the UN, but then neither is Kosovo and they're listed
Thanks for the link, I will take a look at it. I too have shipped to the countries you listed, but when they purchased from me, they all wrote their addresses in English. This person has written it in chines. So that's why I wanted to double check.

Myabe if I have the Chinese writing address on the back of the envelop, it would ensure its delivery?
