A couple suggestions

Here's a few suggestions (again), bundled in the same message to reduce forum noise. :)

Could we have a public to-do list for BrickOwl? It would be useful to know what features are planned so we don't keep posting the same suggestions, or keep on wondering if a suggested feature is planned or was rejected.

Could we have more information in the email notification for a coupon? Unless the sender's coupon text specifies something more, we presently have no idea what the coupon actually is for (percentage off? free shipping? what?).

Could we have a page listing our pending coupons and their details? The only way to list coupons (that I am aware of) is presently to run a search through received emails. That isn't very convenient.

Could we have a way to figure out the amount of parts in whole categories when browsing stores? Let's pick Thor's store:
http://netbricks.brickowl.com/
We can see he has 164000 parts, but the bulk of them is in few of his 606 lots. We have no way of finding these very deep lots, except through a lot of clicking. For each category, BrickOwl displays the amount of lots in brackets rather than the count of parts, but somehow, as a buyer, that information is less useful to me. Perhaps we could display both? As an option?

Could we have a way to quickly see the count of parts for a specific part? A click on "Add to Cart" shows the amount for each color, but I think seeing the total for all colors would be most useful, without even having to click anything. As a buyer, when checking Wishlist matches, I would like to see quantities right away. Otherwise, I end up having to click every single lot, just to see its quantities, to know if the store deserves an order or not.

Could we have direct links between someone's "Forum profile" and their "feedback profile"? For example, let's pick Hoddie's profiles:
http://www.brickowl.com/forum#/profile/620/Hoddie
http://pam.brickowl.com/user/4413
We really have no easy way to go from one profile to the other. (Or why not a single unified profile page for all activity, both forum and marketplace?)

(That's an old suggestion, but here it comes again! :p) Could the assumed dimensions of minifigs with unknown dimensions be reduced to about 15mm in any dimension? For shipping calculations, a part can certainly be assumed huge and bulky unless known otherwise, but it should be safe to assume any unknown minifig is fairly compact.

Thank you!

This would fail on things like Medusa's tail. There would need to be a warning on all minifigs without dimensions that the seller should supply them, or risk underchanging on automatic postage.

    Interesting.

Right, thanks for finding an example to justify the current policy on the matter.
  • I wouldn't mind it changing to include default measurements for all minifigs, I'd prefer it :-). So long as the seller is alerted to check the dimensions where they don't exist when the figures are listed. That puts the onus on the seller to insert the correct measurements, or possibly undercharge for shipping.
  • Here's another suggestion brought up by a customer:

Could the BrickOwl catalog document which glasses/doors/windows can go with which door and window frames? I had a confused buyer, and I myself had to consult external sources to figure this out. I don't see an appropriate field to edit to document parts combining together.

    Thanks!
  • There should be a relationship in the relationships section of the edit form, let me know if not.
  • A similar thing could be done with tyres and wheels. I can see the relationship editor, but I'll have to look into how to do it.
