12 Large PaB Cups :)

This is my 3rd day in a row having to go to the LEGO store to fulfill orders. Got 12 large cups today and will ship out in the morning.

  • OK, Call me confused. You are not selling items you do not own yet are you? Why would you go to the LEGO store to get items to fulfill orders? Surely you would already have the items for the orders, no?
  • .. Would i not have to go to the store to stock back up?
  • Unless my memory is failing me, I the info on your store page appears to have changed since your last post.
I believe it previously implied quote strongly that you were indeed using the PAB store to fulfil orders and that you would refund orders where the PAB was out of stock of amy of the items sold.
While I do not see any direct mention in the TOS stating that you must have the stock listed in your store on hand, I do believe that it is a generally accepted fact.

Some photos of your storeroom, with pics of some of the vast quantities of bricks that you have for sale, may be a good idea to counter any potential customer concerns.

  • Just to confirm, cancelling orders due to being unable to purchase stock after a customer has ordered it from a store would not be acceptable. I am not stating that has happened in this case, I am just making it clear to avoid confusion.
  • I re worded the info page to be more clear yes, sorry that's frowned upon since people seem to be miss understanding. Really i post some pics of 12 cups of legos from one visit... and this makes you think i don't have many legos? Yes because someone that goes and spends over 200 bucks in a day just on PAB cups definitely don't have any legos just those.

If YOU have a concern, don't buy at my store. Orders are getting filled, no customer complaints... and from the PICTURE i did post any quantity of lego would be easy for me to get. What would be the point of showing you more pictures when the one im showing now isnt doing anything for you... you think a few more showing the same things will ease your concern? no it wont. The pic your looking at is over 2000 in one sitting. If you cant use a little sense to do some math.... a picture isnt going to help you.
  • A picture just of the 100.000 2 x 4 bricks would help
That is over 250kg of bricks and so should be an easy picture to take as that is a vary large lot
  • Wow I hope you didn't pick the 100.000 2x4's using cups! That would have taken ages!!
  • I don't think the TOS anywhere specifies that one must have the stock they sell, though you are indeed expected to fulfill any order.

How reliable is the Lego store to always have 10000 in stock in all colors specified? I would be worried they may not have large boxes for sale, for any one color, whenever you need such a quantity right away!
  • As an example, BL listing policy does state the following...
The quantity of the item that you are listing for sale must not be greater than the quantity you have on hand.
  • Reading the exact words used in the initial post in this thread (about "having to go to the LEGO store to fulfill orders" and then shipping afterwards), the former wording of this seller's store page, and the listings of unusually large quantities of parts (in nice round numbers) available in LEGO Store PaBs, could very reasonably lead some people to believe that this seller does not actually have on hand all the items he has listed for sale in his shop. That, however, does not seem to violate any rules here on BrickOwl. But it is a risky selling practice that could get any such a seller in trouble and disappoint buyers. It also seems unfair to other sellers who have to compete with virtual "maybe I can get it for you" inventories.

Admin might want to consider clarifying the item listing rules here to make it more clear whether a seller must actually have on hand all the items he has listed for sale in his shop. Because if these sort of conditional virtual listings will be allowed, there will be many more sellers doing the same thing.

Not really. Pretty easy to get 2k-3k a run. Save up over enough time, buy the boxes when you can. Its easier than ya think. I have lived in Montgomery, Alabama which had a LEGO store in B'ham and now live in Las Vegas with a LEGO store down the street. Been very lucky to always have a LEGO store close buy.

I am also there at least every other day. Current inventory is pretty easy to keep up with.

Isnt that pretty much anything you buy from? sometimes its in stock, sometime its on backorder. Sometimes you cant get it and need someone else to do it for you. You may would run your business under a maybe i can get it for you but i don't. Ill get the parts even if i have to loose money. Whats un fair is the fact i live next to a store and just because most of you don't i and my customers cant take advantage of it. Sales have been so good last few months here and on other sites im getting to move into a bigger apartment this week with my own office. No complaints, no bad rep on any site, not here, not BL, and not ebay.

Funny how all you are complaining... but not one single customer has. Want to sell 1000+ 3001s? Find a way to do it and stop complaining and whining to the guy that is able to do it pretty easy.

Im done with talking to you other sellers on this matter. When its my competitors complaining and not my customers... then im doing something right not wrong.
  • I am a buyer as well. And with your attitude, you just lost a customer.

Once again your own words suggest that you do not actually have these items on hand. E.g. "I'll get the parts", meaning "I *WILL* get the parts", and not that you have them now. You should already have them.

I also live close to a LEGO Store and could do the same thing if I wanted to. But I don't. Not because it is unfair to other sellers. But because it is risky and unfair to buyers for me to advertise I have something I don't actually have.

BTW, unless you are an artist like Nathan Sawaya, how many LEGO Stores are really going to sell anyone dozens of boxes of 2x4s? There are only around 650 2x4s in a box. You need to buy 16 of those boxes to have 10,000 or more in the same color. I've been told by several LEGO Store managers that there is a 2 box per customer limit for any one part, and this is enforced even more strongly for the more desirable parts like 2x4s. It just doesn't add up.

And yet your BL store is suspended
Or do you refer to your new BL account ?
  • I fear this thread has descended into personal attacks which is not in the spirit of this forum.

The terms of service were clarified yesterday to include "All items listed in your store must be kept on hand, you may be required to provide evidence of items listed in your store. Customised items, for example engraved items, are not included in this rule.". This has always been the case to deal with suspected fraudulent stores, but was not explicitly stated.
