Thank you Brick Owl!

Hello Brick Owl Community!

After 2.5 years of quietly enjoying this journey, I figured it's about time to introduce myself.

I run a small store called Brickbar, and today I’m celebrating a milestone: 20,000 listed parts! (Which puts me on page 13 of the stores when sorted by size … way to go)

What started as a simple suggestion ("You need a hobby!") has turned into a truly rewarding pastime. To keep things simple, I only sell on Brickowl and focus entirely on used parts. At the moment, my store has almost 3,500 active lots—which is kind of crazy when I think about it! The journey so far has been amazing:
- Setting up a storage system that works for me
- Creating a color palette (those greys!)
- Learning about mold variations (does anyone else care?)
- Shipping orders to places halfway across the globe
- Trying to find this one decorated tile among 2500 variations ...
- And enjoying the meditative act of sorting through a pile of bricks—especially when my wife joins in to help …

Brickowl has been a fantastic platform. A huge thanks to the Brickowl team and to everyone in this community for making it such a great space to be part of! Looking forward to continuing this journey.

Happy building,
Helmut

  • Thank you for sharing your experience, I'm glad to hear the website has been useful to you
  • That is awesome that you have gotten so far with your hobby =). I have about 25k of leftover parts and I almost opened the store, but got hindered behind the shipping methods and haven't gotten myself into getting it going.

So I am still mostly just buying parts here :D. But sorting bricks - yeah, it is meditative. I keep an eye out on those bulk sales where people just put their whole "attic" for sale and then the sorting begins =). Even now I have about four 100l boxes that need sorting - if I only had the time and space...
