Require Phone Number With "Request a Quote"

Hello,

I have been getting lots of "Request a Quote" turned orders from new international buyers who because it is not asked do not input phone numbers. I then have to reach out and ask and wait OR ship with my number on it instead when a portion do not reply after a few days.

  • Before you send your order. Could you just not ask for the number from the buyer ?
    And if it is a request, they have not paid for the order yet, so i am not sure i understand, why you would send an order, if they have yet to pay for the shipping ?

    Or is it because you answer them with the quote, they pay, but still leave out the number ?
    In anyway i would still wait to ship, until the buyer returns with an answer. Instead of putting your own number on the shipping.
    In either way, it would be the wrong contact info, and you would be making an mistake by doing that.
  • I realize putting my own number is wrong, but when you ask 3 times in a week and do not get a response (this has happened a couple of times already this holiday season), I'm not sure what else to do. I could cancel and refund order, and then eat the fees and have missed out on a sale in the week where I waited for a number. If we have the ability to require a phone number with other shipping methods we should have the ability to require it when the quote is accepted as part of the checkout.
  • Generally, we would recommend setting up some shipping methods, so that customers do not need to request a quote. On shipping methods, there is the option to require a phone number.
