Colour differences on photos.

Hi there.

I just had an order where a customer order a dark blue jumper.

But on the photo in order page the item appears to be black.

Obvious i will resend the customer a correct one.

But i did find the
Appearance of colours on photos at brickowl mediocre; dark blue LBG DBG white and black are hardly to be reconized from the colour on the photos often.

Is there an option to opt out of appearance of photos from certain colours? As i believe it will be unlikely that these photos will be deleted and put up for resubmmision.

(To be clear the problem is not just limited to a one time tile slipup, this causes problems for me regular)

Kind regards

  • If you don't already have it enabled, you can show 'color watches' on the order page, you can access that from your order settings here https://www.brickowl.com/mystore/settings/order_settings
  • Further to this, I've taken a look at your orders, I can see that the dark blue photo on 15573 is terrible. I will remove all the dark blue 'photoreal' images.
  • Dear lawrence,

To begin please let me state that my frustrated undertone , was purely towards myself; as i do reconize in the end for this mistake the blame is on me.

That said, your response time is amazing.

I did enabled color swatches, this will make it automaticly more visable already i think thanks for this tip!

    Your second response makes me wonder;
It sounds to me that those photos are automaticly generated in a way.

Im not a website or photo expert, but i think the visabillity can be improved with a small change in saturation or something ; if its already generated automaticly this might be a relative easy improvement overall between black and dark blue.

Thank you for your time, tip, and such.

    Kind regards

  • The majority of the images that we use come directly from Lego. Lego have different styles of images. A new style is called 'photoreal'. We can't easily adjust the images, so it's easier for us to just remove ones that are a particular problem.
  • I've had a similar issue with tan. Looks 100% like dark tan to me. It just is what it is, but I thought I'd mention that OP isn't alone I botched an order too!
  • If you identify any bad photos, you can submit an image removal for them on the edit tab and we can remove those
