Opinions on new "photoreal" images

We recently saw that LEGO have a new style of image on their pick-a-brick. Something that they internally calll "photoreal". We have begun importing these, and I wanted to get opinions on the preference of these versus the prior LEGO images we have been using for the past decade.

In my opinion, on transparent items, they look excellent

I think they also look quite good on decorated items

On flatter more normal items, I'm concerned that the shadows/reflections are a bit excessive

I wondered what other people think? Potentially, we could make them the primary image on some items, and the secondary image on other types of items, but that may be a bit complicated.

@Lawrence yes I agree with you. I have the same problem with shadows when trying to add photos to the catalogue. But the others look good.

Lego has really upped their rendering game, these all look good to me, even the "normal" item IMO.

Yes on primary images unless there is a better existing image.

I like them, I think the renders look really good. As long as the colour matches are true to life then it will help a lot. I have had problems more than once with white v medium stone gray and medium v dark stone gray.

Thank you for the feedback. I think I will leave them as default for now, but I will keep an eye on all of the new images, and remove any that I think are too reflective. Particularly tiles seem to be an issue, with an excessively complicated shadow one them.
