American flag

I have for sale the American flag item number 776. I have been told that this is not the 48 star flag, but the 50 star flag. Is there any way of telling the difference your help would be much appreciated

    A quick check on BL suggests the version without the bottom lip (i.e. your version) is the one with 48 stars, and the one with a bottom lip is the 50 star one. Might be worth trying to double check this on other sites (for example Peeron). I suppose counting the stars would be problematic if some have worn away.

    @Jay37 I have found these on bricklink. Looks like mine is the 50 stars as the 48 star flag the stars are inline.

    @Neiljones, okay, so you've done a bit more digging than I did first thing! I agree, it looks like how the stars are aligned dictates the number.

    @Jay37 thanks for your help. Sadly it was not me that did the digging. It was the customer who wanted to buy the flag and asked for photos that sent me the photos from Brick link. As always, your help is always and always will be appreciated.
