I don't want a store but I'm curious. I need to find a way to keep track of my personal parts. I estimate I have about 35,000 parts. I have them all separated into drawers by type.
For my store, I created a spreadsheet with info such as part number/name, cost, colors, quantity, etc. There are also software programs available that other sellers use, especially those that sell on multiple sites.
Since you're not creating a store, there are also a few websites that you could look at: - Rebrickable.com is what I use for my personal collection. It's free to use for basic info (part, color, quantity), which you can break down into lists (up to 20). Additional notes or additional lists require a subscription fee, but I've never needed that myself. It features an upload/download feature for fast updates to the collection. You can also keep track of your full sets, too. - Brick Owl has a "Collection" feature that any user can use (I learned about Rebrickable first, otherwise I'd probably be using this). - Brickset.com is a good alternative for individual sets/minifigures you might own. You can keep track of individual parts, too, but it's hard to use, in my opinion.
Thank you for the reply. I started using Rebrickable at first but it was a bit too tedious. I have an idea in my head for a smart phone based inventory app but I don't know how to make smart phone apps. lol
You can actually just make your inventory here on brickowl, as a shop. But just not open your store, or really make one.
I started out with having more and more parts, and could not always find what i needed right away. So i ended up making my inventory here. Then a few years later, i started selling sets and small parts. So use it like that, it really helped me in the start :-)
