It helps the buyer establish a history, which in turn lets sellers know a customer has a history. The alternative is that every buyer appears to be a new user.
We have numerous topics about this. So i just took the most recent one in my search.
But once again: 1. Thy are we as sellers not able to mark a customer with a negative feedback - Of cause with explanation required. 2. The store and customer should not be able to write/give feedback until the order has been marked received. Until then, all kinds of things can happen to the order.
Because once again from another forum topic, we have a store owner who have left a positive feedback, but probably would like to change it to negative since disagreement have happened now. And from my own experience, i have as a buyer had sellers being mad at me, because i left them a negative feedback when they gave me a good one.
I think there really needs to be looked at this "problem".
Regarding those feedbacks - I think that it would be much better to rather have a simple comparison, how much feedback has been left and how much transactions have ended without a feedback. It is very human to not leave any feedback at all and at the same time those tend to be rather extreme situations where actual negative feedback is left (and mostly due to miscommunication or misunderstanding). So if a buyer is not impressed enaugh, then there is no feedback. Therefor, for other buyers to notice those stores that are extra special (either by their quick service, special approach and etc.), then there isn't actually any way to differentiate. Solution in my opinion would be a simple 12/20 indication where 12 represents the amount of feedback left of total 20 transactions. This would give a clear view that 12 buyers have been impressed enaugh to leave feedback.
The topic was about the purpose of leaving feedback... Did I miss something?
But yeah, I understand that this is mostly about leaving feedback to customers (buyers). I just wanted to point out that in some way, the whole feedback system is a bit askew...
But the same principle (number of feedback/from total transactions) could be used for buyers and sellers alike...

At least now with only the possibility to leave positive, i can only see how that is more of a problem, than not.
