@Fox4444 according to the leaflet from October last year it was £20 compensation on standard and £50 on signed for, and it's now down to £20 on signed for too (in line with standard).
That's Royal Mail gleaning as much money out of customers as they can in prep for the compensation they're going to have to pay to all those post office managers wrongly imprisoned when their accounts system went screwy! All UK orders under 70g I send out 2nd-class large letter signed for (just in case parcels go astray in transit), which was £3.05 (after the 10p price rise in January!) and always refunded buyers the overpayment on postage through Paypal, but now it's gone up another 20p, I just can't afford to do that with the PayPal fees, etc. Just another example of customers and small businesses having to shoulder the incompetence of large corporations
Tracked 48 is the way to go. It's cheaper than 2nd class but with tracking. The queues in our nearest PO (in the next town) are too big for me to cope with so it's all gone online for me.
My wife runs a charity as her side hustle, so our Postie collects all the parcels from the collection box at the end of our drive.
Im having to now send bigger items as as a small parcel .Small parcel price on a larger item is still showing as £2.20 when l need it to show £4.35 l cant seem to work it out HELP!!!!
@pandf12 You may need to reduce the maximum size of your large letter postage option. 25mm is the maximum you can send by large letter, but that is the size of the package not the part. I would suggest changing the maximum thickness to 20/21mm to allow space for packaging.
