Sending message to active cart holders

Our store has 50+ open carts. We are going to have a longer holiday so we close our store in 2 days. When this happened in the past we needed a good amount of time (a few weeks) to build up the active cart number. That is very logical, people gave up waiting and they shopped somewhere else. I think it would be a great new feature to be able to send a general informing message to all those who opened a cart saying that we are going to close for X amount of weeks, so please proceed with your order before date X, so we can ship out your Lego. I am not asking to be revealed who are behind the carts, they should stay anonymous. With this option we could serve possibly many more customers before going for holiday and all those customers would not be disappointed.
