6990 monorail set from the 80's

Hi wonder if anyone out there knows of someone in Christchurch who could help me get this monorail to work. I have replaced the square terminals, connecting the battery to the engine, and it still doesn't work - new battery put in of course. This set has hardly been used so it should still work. Suggestions would be very gratefully received. regards Jenny

I have no knowledge of the set specifics, but if you have a multimeter, then you could just start tracking the power. Verify that you have power from the 9V box, then do you have the power at the cable end and so forth. This migth end in taking the motor apart to find the culprit... But it shouldn't be something impossible and should be easy to put back together.

If you have no knowledeg on how to do any of that, but you do have a multimeter, then share pictures and people will guide you step-by-step. At least I would .
