Adding a variant to a variant

How do I add a variant to a part that already has a variant?

I'm in the process of uploading some old 1960s/1970s doors. There is already a hollow or solid hinge variant in the catalog, but the solid hinge version also has two different types of handle - hollow or solid.

For info, design IDs are 3188, 3189, 3192, 3193, 3194, 3195, 445 & 446.
