Postage dimensions

I don't know if it is just me, but I have not altered my shipping dimensions for some years as I had got them to a point where everything 'worked'. However, in the last week I have had a number of orders where the shipping option of Royal Mail Standard Letter has been available when the items purchased will not fit within these dimensions and should have been Large Letter.

I checked the settings and the height for a Standard Letter was showing as 30mm instead of 3mm! Orders placed in July seem to have been as they should, so it looks like I have caught it in time (albeit now stung for postage costs on the orders I am currently processing).

I have definitely not changed these dimensions, so can anyone else see if theirs have mysteriously changed too. Is this related to the changes admin made, referenced in the forum here:

???

Thanks
James

  • Yes, I'd guess an entry of 3 was probably identified by admin's recent sweep as meaning 3cm, so was updated to 30mm.

That’s exactly what I did, I’m sorry for causing an error. There were hundreds of mostly US shipping methods with dimension limits like 5x5x3mm for example that I updated. I hadn’t adequately considered sellers may use normal letter postage. If you contact us using the contact link with details of any losses caused we can reimburse that for you.
  • Thank you Lawrence, that's much appreciated. I'll drop you a line tomorrow when I have a bit more time to go through the orders.
