I have an idea for a smart phone app that would easily and efficiently keep track of your part inventory. It would include printing barcodes or QR codes for each container you store parts in. You scan the code and assign parts to the container. If you're looking for a part, type in the part number and the app tells you which container it's in and how many you have of each color. Then, you could assign parts to a build and it would delete them from your spares inventory and assign it to a build inventory. You could import a parts list from a MOC or set and the app would tell you exactly where each part is and which parts you still need to buy. All from your smart phone.

I don't think that only searching on part number is a good idea, I know 10 from memory might need to filter by category, color and description to narrow it down and select from a small list of images.
White Horse, I don't know. Not familiar with brickstore. Does that work on a smart phone? I've found using a computer a bit tedious. That's why I was going for something that could scan bar codes and stay in your hand the whole time.
