Forum: filter out one or more categories when listing posts.

I like to be able to exclude categories from the posts list in the forum.
More specifically, the "Store Announcements" are basically just stores doing some form of advertisements ("20% off"). It would be nice to opt-out of this channel.

If it's possible already, can someone help me how to achieve it so the posts from the channel/category "Store Announcements" are
hidden for me? Thank you.

Compared to how little activity the forum have, i can not see that this is needed.
But at the moment there is no such option to filter.

True, in absolute numbers it's not a lot.
But relatively, when I look at the first page, it's more or less 50% of all forum posts.

I'd like this.

Mentioning no names, there seem to be a few stores who run non stop 'sales' and I'd rather not see the repeated posts.

Or an 'ignore user's option.

The filter-out user would be good as well. (Indeed, the "spam" is coming from a limited number of users, so it seems)
