Advice please

I think I put my original post in the wrong section and had no replies …. So here goes…

Due to a sudden death In the family and the repercussions from that I am going to have to sell my entire stock catalogue as I will be unable to continue for some time. This has left me reeling so am trying to get a grip and get organised.

Can anyone tell me the best way to go about it. Are there auction sites or can you sell entire stock on here?

I am in the UK by the way.

I know what brick owl have my stock valued at for selling. Does anyone know the best place to go to sell as a total job lot?

Many thanks

BO does not allow selling of bulk stock on their site, but I know a lot of people sell bulk stock on Ebay. Doing it that way, you can sell for a set price, or put it up for auction. Hope this helps
  • Hi,

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. I totally understand that your priorities now lay elsewhere.

I know other stores have offered their inventory for sale to other stores here on Brick Owl when circumstances change (new job, moving house, etc), but how this process is undertaken I'm not sure. Hopefully others who've gone through this can help on this.

I guess you could sell as a job lot on ebay but that might be quite a hassle, especially if you're after a reasonably rapid sale.

Another possibility might be Vectis Auctions Ltd in Stockport. They are a specialist toy auction house who featured on a series on the Yesterday channel last year. They (I believe) offer a collection service, so they could give you another option.

I hope others chip in with more detailed advice and wish you all the best.

    James
  • Thankyou James for your kind words and advise and I will check out the auctions. I am thinking the eBay fees would be massive for selling all this but will look into it. Am trying to find a quick solution, it’s not easy. Thanks again.
  • Store inventories are regularly offered for sale on the Bricklink sellers Facebook group, are you on there?
  • So very sorry for your loss! There is the Facebook Marketplace, or perhaps the UK has the equivalent of the US's Craig's List? Basically web-based classified ads are a good best bet... anywhere you go to buy LEGO in bulk can frequently also be a great place to sell.
  • You may also try LEGO fan forums and see if anyone in your area might wish to buy your stock.
  • Thankyou all for your help. I appreciate it. Have a great weekend.
