Google AdWords integration

I'm not sure if this is possible but I think that Adwords offer a service where they only actually charge you if the customer has, not only gone through the Ad, but placed an order.

Is it possible to integrate BrickOwl with it, so that we can advertise our stores and only get charged on real customers?

  • I could potentially fairly easily allow integration with it if you are referring to the conversion tracking?

I don't believe they have free ads unless it converts though, I believe it is just free until a user clicks, and you pay per click, not per conversion
  • Oh, I thought it meant per conversion. However, it would be useful to have it anyways, to see if it's worth it. Perhaps Analytics too.
  • I have used ad words before. It is a Pay-per-click. They click on the ad and you have to pay Google for that click, even if they don't buy anything.

What would be a nice alternative is if we could get a special click through link to track. Example, I place a banner on a radio stations website for advertisement. They click the link, I now know how many people clicked this and who actually placed an order through my specialized link. Also, an addition if they click the custom link, we can set that link to a percent off. So the link gets clicked, they see a slash through all the item prices and then next to it the price they will actually pay (lets say 10% off).

Just thought of it, not sure if this is possible.

  • I think the affiliate tracking works already for conversions, put ?utm_source=radio onto a url and it will show up in the order details screen.
  • So if I wanted to track Google Adwords conversions, my ad link would be:

    brickmonger.brickowl.com?utm_source=adwords

    ?
  • Sort of, it will show in your order screen, but that will not track as a conversion on Adwords, which I believe Brick_Top was referring to
  • @Admin, any update on setting up referrals from Brickset? Huw removed the ads with the site redesign and I think store traffic is down.
  • @DadsAFOL Yes, I believe he intends to start working on that soon to integrate it into the new website.
  • That was something I wanted to ask but never did. I once got an order that the referral source showed 'brickset'. Where do those come from? I've never seen it before, or don't pay affiliate fees.
  • Brickset, but there's no scheme currently, so you don't pay
