How to take apart the Small Turntable Assembly (809378)?

It consists of two parts: Top for Small Turntable (39892 / 99010) and Bottom for Small Turntable (99009).
Is there a simple, non-destructive way to separate these two?

  • Compared to how it is put together, i would say to take it apart that way too. So try to pull from the "pinholes" and maybe do a vertical pull, or a slight tilted pull, to get one side free.
Lego is quite durable and i think it would be able to take such a "force" to take it apart, without breaking the pieces.

It's hard to pull them apart as it's difficult to grab them properly. So I used a couple of beams and pins to make levers – and after some twisting finally managed to pull them apart. Unfortunately, the turntable bottom was damaged in the process (images attached). The moral of this story - once you click the top and bottom together, never try to separate them again. If you want to sell them, just list them as the assembly.
