Country Notes

Please implement a feature whereby sellers can write notes about certain countries AND have those notes automatically displayed (to the seller only) in the order details when orders are received from buyers in such countries. As a seller, I would like to be able to write reminder notes to myself about issues affecting certain countries and see those notes when I receive orders from those countries. These notes would, for example, be reminders about potential problems or issues relating to shipping, insurance, customs, etc., that may be unique to certain countries, such as Brazil, Italy and Romania (the latest example, with the USPS now saying shipping from the USA to Romania takes 3-4 months). These reminder notes may influence how I ship or insure orders to those countries, and how and what I communicate to buyers in those countries.

  • Yes, This would have changed how I quoted this order and shipped it. The customer is left waiting and waiting longer. There is not a way, BTW, to track it further once it leaves the US and the USPS website tracking tool archives the tracking on the order after 30 days.

    Here are some hints for international orders to avoid packages being held back in customs:
    - always put an invoice OUTSIDE the package
    - don't mention LEGO on the custom slip or invoice (important for countries where packages get easily "lost")
    - Brazil: never put 'used' on the custom slip or invoice
    - Italy: don't say 'plastic toys' or 'plastic toy parts', choose another wording which does not combine 'plastic' with 'toy'
