html code in user-editable fields

I'm noticing different display of what I assume is the same user code in the parts notes [?] field. Code is being stripped in one instance (product page) and displayed verbatim in another (wishlist). In neither instance is the code being interpreted as code. In the wishlist, the word breaks are also problematic. Can this be cleaned up?
