Capturing Stripe Payments

Why are Stripe payments through BrickOwl not setup to be captured automatically?

They are, once the order is set to shipped.

There may be a way to do that on your Stripe dashboard. I remember that GCO had it set up like that.

Isn't it better this way? If you cancel part or all of the order before capturing the payment the fees are adjusted to reflect the new amount. If done afterwards the fees are not refunded.

@Hoddie It is, but due to the way that Stripe does payouts, some people may want to start the clock as soon as possible. I see valid reasons for both ways of doing it.

In the Stripe-dashboard, go to the uncaptured payment. On the payment details page, there should be a button or an action-item with the text "Capture". The manual capture action is also logged here on BrickOwl in the order-details with a timestamp.

@NelisSolis On the BrickOwl order you can manually capture with the drop down menu on top too.
