Orders are overdue, payment made 3 days later with IBAN

Hello,
We have sometimes the situation that orders are marked as overdue. For example at the moment it shows two orders from 10/17 around 8 AM today (10/20, 11 AM) as overdue. Both orders have been paid with IBAN and we have received the payment yesterday (10/19). We have marked it today as "payment received".

In our opinion the counting of days should start now from the date of payment received and not from the date of order placed.

What's your experience / opinion with these delays?

I raised this myself ages ago and was told something like the warning is automatic but there are no negative implications without somebody looking at the detail. Presumably if it ever gets to that point you are given a chance to have your say.

Regards your suggestion, it would be open to abuse by disreputable sellers, choosing not to mark payment received in order to delay having to pack and send the order. I don't suppose that would be common but you can't rule it out.

Also, just a reminder, no one ever sees these but the seller (it's a beta counter, I believe). :-)
