Adding extra weight for fragile parts!

How can you add extra weight to an order to make sure you can use for example extra carton for Stickers or extra carton for fragile parts.

Now automatically the system weight the parts but leave no overhead for carton!


What can I do about this?

Three options:

(1) In your inventory you can add a custom weight for each item.

(2) In your inventory you can put a tick in 'force quote' to allow you to price the postage individually.

(3) You can allow for extra weight when adding your shipping methods. Instead of saying, for example, 100g = £1.20 which is what the Post Office charges, you can say 80g = £1.20, giving you a 20g margin to account for packaging.

Warning! Check your inventory for parts missing weight - there's not many left - however if you sell anything that has no weight - it goes into the order anyway @ 0g

It doesn't go in at 0g, all item types have default weights where it makes a conservative guess. For very bulky parts, it isn't conservative enough though.
