I'm trying to figure out how to build either an American football helmet or an American football. I have a friend who is a big fan of our states team, and I would love to gift them with a lego sculpture for Christmas. If anyone has anything that can help I would be so thankful! Thank you!

European football-themed MOCs are abundant...American football not so much. I couldn't find any instructions for American footballs or helmets for sale on Rebrickable, MOCsMarket, or BrickLink. My searches included "football", "foot ball", "helmet", "American football", "ball" and "sports."
Lego published a polybag-like instruction page for a palm-sized American football helmet in 2016 for Super Bowl 50, but they've removed it from their online instruction archives. You can do an image search on Google for "Lego football helmet instructions" to get the front and back, and manually add the parts to your wishlist, if the build strikes your fancy. The parts list is in the instructions, so it shouldn't be too hard; you can take the opportunity to change the colors, too, to match your team's colors.
Alternatively, one site that came up repeatedly in my search is a sports merchandise store called FOCO. They sell licensed football and helmet sets under a block line they call "BRXLZ."

I've never heard of them before, so I did some research:
- Pros: Appears to be officially licensed by the NFL, as they sell branded helmet and football sets. Have most NFL teams, and a handful of colleges. Appears to be a legit company. Product also sold on other retail sites like Amazon and Wal-Mart.
- Cons: Doesn't offer downloadable instructions like Lego does, so you'd have to buy the set: $30 US for a football, $37 US for a helmet (not sure on shipping price). Few/no reviews of the sets on their website, so quality is unknown. Various third-party customer review sites rate FOCO.com (as a whole) as below average-to-poor for customer service, so you'd probably be better off buying through a third-party distributor like Amazon (retail is about the same as FOCO.com, maybe a couple dollars higher).
Hope that helps a little!
