API for Messages

Calibrick suggested this and I like the idea, hence this formal suggestion. An API for Messages with all relevant information, including the markings like "need response" etc.
Personally I would integrate this API in my local software program with which I work on daily basis, implementing some alert for messages needing response.

Indeed suggested before, although related to orders only, I would like it to be generic for all messages. Also regarding the uses cases, I would use it integrated in my software application (single point of access) instead of needing another additional mailprogram to access and accessing BO online.
