Can anyone tell me the differences between the LEGO Power Functions IR Speed Remote Controls
My one has 2008on the back

    I'm presuming you're talking about the 2 items 8879 and 64227. It looks a bit weird but they're actually the same thing, 8879 is a set that has a single item in it's inventory, 64227. Bit of an oddity maybe but it's listed the same way in other places.

    As I understand it 64227 is the part number that is included in various train sets etc. 8879 is the individual 'replacement' part available from Lego. No functional/cosmetic differences otherwise.
