Sharing the database structure for the catalog?

I'm interesting, both from a user point of view but also professional (I'm a Software Architect), in the database structure for the catalog. I am not familiar with the BL database structure but based on the functionality and issues a global idea about it. I've seen a discussion about the old set numbering not being supported right now, maybe I can add some idea's here and there. Can it be shared?

As there is BL 2.0 in the works and possibly other competitors, now is probably not the best time, but maybe in the future. It's not that special, but I don't want to give all my ideas away
