Please fix shipping address mismatch

Every time (bar one) when I get the "shipping address is different...."

the customer has entered the wrong zip code (post code) on BrickOwl

If I do as demanded and ship to the address on BrickOwl they likely won't get their order and they will be able to file a successful claim with PayPal

The "other place" has it sorted. Can't we here?

Thanks

  • But if the customer have entered a wrong zip code, why dont you write to the customer, explaining the problem ?
  • Zip/post codes get updated but existing residents tend to stick to the one they're used to. Post offices deal with this internally easily enough. I once lived in an apartment that had three post codes in just over 2 years. I didn't even know it was possible until it happened to me.
  • I'm very much with Graham on this one... while I continue to suspect there is some legal or UK/EU reason for this disparity, from a seller POV it makes FAR more sense to always ship to the payment-provided shipping address IMHO. Time is lost following up with buyers on the address disparities. And now and then they're drop-ships, which I only do per my terms if we've arranged it in advance (or if it's obviously a gift to a family member, etc.). I don't like enabling those Amazon stores that stock nothing and rip our customers off with too-high market prices. ;-)

I'm encouraged to hear that BL sorted this out in some way, though. @Lawrence are you open to at least exploring this (sellers always ship to the payment-provided shipping address vs. the BO shipping address)? I know it's your world and we just play in it, but this really would help a lot of folks methinks. Again, unless there is a legal reason - or if even you just don't want to, which is completely cool if so <s> - it would be good to definitively know if this door is open to explore or locked to us. :-)

    Just my respectful two cents!
