Feedback Etiquette

Hello everyone,

what is the feedback etiquette? Is it a waiting game like other sites or how do you handle feedback?
Buyer first?
Seller first?

I am asking as I have done some purchases and it seems nobody is given feedback even though I paid within minutes, so I have done my part.

There isn't really any certain way you are supposed to do it. Some customers/stores don't leave feedback at all. Sometimes if you leave feedback, it will make them remember to leave it. A lot of customers never mark the order as received. So I would just recommend that you just leave feedback, and even If they don't, just don't worry about it.

Generally, the real onus is on the buyer to comment on service & quality. It is difficult to really leave purchaser feedback other than to say thank you, as the orders are paid as ordered. We do leave feedback, generally in batches as otherwise others can't really see how many orders the buyer has successfully made. Tricky one really!

For my part as a seller I leave customer feedback once I've marked the order as shipped. As @Bricks_nw_uk says this is more of a thank you than actual feedback. If it's returned when the order is received then great, but not a problem if not.

I do what Jay37 does (great minds and all... <s>). ;-) I believe in other threads we sellers run around 20% feedback on successful orders. Try to look at it as "no news is good news"! Other sellers proactively try to encourage feedback thru coupon rewards, polite emails, etc.

I was asking because I started my shop and purchased some items from others to get some feedback. It is always hard to sell with zero feedback. So far, several purchases and no feedback.
