The brick on the right has a slit down the middle, should I list it with regular 2x4s or is there a separate listing for that type of 2x4? (if so I couldn't find it) Is it the earlier version 2x4?
There's no picture attached (or not one that's displaying for me) so I'm guessing the slit you're referring to is through the tubes on the underside. If so these would be under the 2x4 bricks without cross supports (search for 3001 and there is a link to the correct catalog entry in the info grid) and yes, they are older bricks. These slotted bricks appeared in the early 1970s, and are one variation of these older bricks, but what the thinking behind the slots were, I don't know. I'm guessing that some stores don't realise there is a difference so imagine there's a lot of crossover.
