parting out sets sort option

when parting out sets there is no longer an option to sort by color. Can this sort option be added back in.

I think that was my fault sorry, I asked to be able to get back to the default order which is by item name. I think they'd have to be in separate columns to allow sorting on both.

I emailed Lawrence and it won’t be changed back unless several members suggest it. I cannot part out sets without this option.

You can always part out onto Brickstock and upload the file using the import options.

At the risk of sounding a bit stupid... isn't sorting by item name ALSO sorting by color? Every item in the catalog starts with its color name (well, it's the second word, the first word is always LEGO), when a color applies.

@Calibrick on the part out screen the colour is now at the end of the name, it was changed to allow the order to be reset to item type, this is the thread

I don't have a problem with the colour being added as an extra sort order option but I wouldn't support it being 'changed back', I still want to be able to sort in item type (name) order.

Ahhh thanks, Mrs. Swoop, I did not realize that (I have never used this function, just kinda assumed entries displayed the same as the catalog). :-)

This really sucks, one person makes a suggestion and it Is changed and it won’t be changed back or other options to sort by color. Won’t be parting out sets anymore and have several as l to do and the new process is to time consuming

Rather than changing it back, perhaps @Lawrence would be open to adding a color field (assuming that data is separately stored, which I can't imagine it is not). :-) I will upvote this, as though I have no need now, I can see that being desirable later.

@Lawrence I am so used to parting out buy colour especially large sets were I sort by colour first I have not parted out any thing since the change any tips you can share how to part out using the new description method I only sell on Brick Owl so would prefer not to use brick stock Mark

Another vote to add back some option to sort by colour. Absolute nightmare for parting out sets now

how do i add votes to make this change. it appears many are not happy with it. one person makes a suggestion for it and the rest of us have to figure out a new process of doing it

There is now a drop-down to choose the way that the name is displayed, I would be interested to hear is this now fits everybodies needs.
