Effects of changing Store Name

If I changed my store name what would happen?

Mainly I'm wondering which store name would show against orders already placed in my store? And would they still link back to my store?

I'm also aware that customers wouldn't recognize the new name as they might the old one, but I don't have many regular customers and I would contact them and my more recent customers.

But I'm guessing there are some other consequences that I haven't thought of?

I changed my store name on BO a few years ago with no adverse consequences. Your store ID stays the same so old invoices will show the new store name, and links from a customer's order history will link through to your store like they always did.

For what it's worth, I think Mrs. Swoop and the Bricks is a great name also! Its memorable, which is a key marketing point (if we add imaginary band names to the list, I guess we could roll with Benny and the Jets, too <s>).

have been fascinated with "Mrs Swoop"- sure there's a story behind...and probably makes the customers wonder- Brilliant!

Love it, Pikka! I got 49%, but I'm not sure if its considered cheating as I had to look up the spelling for a certain band name from the 80s (so maybe I'm tied with you if I didn't do that).

Oh wait, lol, that was the average score (49%). I got 64%, woot! Apparently I'm a unique and beautiful snowflake according to these guys, lol. Some of the really old ones threw me (50s, 60s). Kicked myself on one, I should have had it. Never even heard of a couple on there (they appear to be older acts), sigh - so much for my musical diversity! ;-)

There is a story behind Mrs Swoop but for anyone that's wondering the reality is far duller then what they could imagine so I think we'll leave that there.

I got 46% on the band names, a couple I only got because they're mentioned in this thread, but a couple I didn't get because I can't spell Springsteen or Valli.

35% on the Lego movies, oh well

Don't feel bad, Mrs. Swoop! I didn't do much better on the LEGO movies... a couple were just too obscure, and sadly, I just didn't recognize The Matrix (one of my all time favorite films, lol)!
