How do I add a new color for an existing brick?

You can add it to your wish list, or to your store inventory to create the colour, and then delete it if you don't want it in either of those.

That's a little out of the way. Is there no way to add a color from the parent item? I was just wanting to add one to complete a set inventory.

Are you wanting to add a new colour of an existing part to a sets inventory?

Yes.

You can just choose the colour you want from the color dropdown. Existing colors are at the top, new colors lower down.

I'm not following you. For instance, this part is now available in Dark Red:

(Someone beat me to it, but this for posterity.) From the Catalog page, I can navigate to existing colors. I can edit the parent. But I can't see anywhere to add a new color to the existing palette of available colors.

Where is this Color dropdown you speak of?

When you edit a sets inventory, you pick the color of any parts your editing in the inventory. If that colour doesn't yet exist, it will create it. Usually colors are created automatically, but in this case I don't know which variant of the part the new color is.

I've attached the item number to the dark red version of that part, the inventory will be updated within the next hour.
