edit lots within quotes

Is there a way to add in options for a seller to modify a Quote before sending it out? I've run into a couple of instances where the inventory on-hand did not match the requested # of parts listed on a quote. If I send out a quote based on that request, the customer will still be expecting those parts. I would prefer to have a way to remove entire lots or part of a lot from a quote before sending it, with the buyer being notified that lot xyz is unavailable or that there are only 4 available if they requested 5, so that there are no surprises when they go to complete the order.
