Marketplace VAT collection 1st July 2021

I know BO is based on the UK and by 2021 it will be out of EU, but just in case these affects the sales done inside EU.

    This will mean that all buyers in the EU will pay their own country's VAT percentage from July 2021. Now they pay the seller's country's VAT percentage. So BO will at least have to change how VAT is calculated on orders in VAT-registered stores in the EU.

    We actually had another member contact us about this yesterday. The marketplace rules don't apply to Brick Owl as we don't process payments.

    Stores are in control of how VAT is charged, however we may make some changes closer to the time to make this easier for stores if necessary.

    Nice! This American's head spun a bit thinking of the ramifications of BO itself had to do this, so glad it's not affected as a platform (yet will do what they can to support the sellers, I have no doubt).
