Either I'm using it wrong, or it really, really needs improvement.
Take an example: I search for "plate 1 x 2" (incl. the quotation marks, to get specific return) -> 180 results, and the standard 1x2 plate isn't even on the first page (of 60 items), let alone the first view (without scrolling). I then have to apply *three* filters ('Parts', 'Plates', 'Standard') before I finally find what I'm looking for. It's worse without the quotation marks of course.
Compare this to Rebrickable: a search for "plate 1 x 2" returns the correct results on the first page, visible without scrolling down (2nd row) - granted, even this could be better, but it's much better than BO. Applying one filter (category=plates) gets me only the correct part (2 results since there is a mould variation).
The difference is big enough that I often search via Rebrickable and use the link from there to the BO catalog entry. That's not a great experience for buyers.
Don't get me wrong, I think this site is great and it's my main selling outlet. I'm not trying to knock it, just improve it.

Not only that, but with the 'default' sort option it actually works better than RB!
Well, thanks! Hopefully my idiocy will help someone else who stumbles across this thread in future I guess...
It seems to be site-wide so if you view the 'items added recently' page it will change to date order again.
