Trying to make 4 x 4 dome

Hello,

I'm not new to lego, but new to making my own creations and this site. It's pretty awesome, from what little time I've spent here so far.

Anyway, I'm trying to make a building and it has a dome on top and the scale for it would best fit with a 4x4x1 or 4x4x2 overall dome. Lego has a 2x2 dome piece, and also quarter dome pieces that together make a 6x6x3 dome. What's the best way to make one between these sizes?

Thanks. I was thinking about it... I think the orange one would be as close as I'll get. Trying to get close to metallic gold, but this may have to do. Was also hoping to be able to stick a small object on the top, but again I think this is the closest I can get. Appreciate it!
