Pages for Shop: Content from other domain

Hey,

Is there any chance to implement an own page from another domain as .e.g the Home Page which is shown to customers? Either entering a link and Brick Owl uses this to show the content or the possibility to use an IFram to show content. Today I have a public SplashPage on my domain which I can just show on the page of the other planet. And I have to copy the source code after an update (e.g. change of CTG, Porto, etc.) again to Brick Owl.

This might be helpful - but maybe only for me?! What do you think about it? Or is there already a technology to use it?

Regards,
Oliver.

  • Hi,

I have thought also about this and I found a some pro and cons to this.

Pro = everyone can make it as they want, with their own branding etc.

Con1 = the clean interface of brickowl is not maintained in every part of the website, which can be a downfall to the customer

Con2 = now the customer know what to expect on a page and where, which makes it easier and better to navigate the website.

If we have a look on the other site, i always have to search for store terms, shipping, policies etc. On brickowl you know where and what to expect.

But i do not know how Lawrence sees this or other sellers ? just my thoughts :)

    Kind regards,

    unbrickable
  • Hey,
this are good arguments I was also thinking about. For sure it's better for the users if they stay on the same page without any cross reference to outer domains.
It's always a nightmare and a lot of time if I have to update for example some shipping fee. I have to update it on my domain (this is my personal master) and than I have to update it on the shipping fee setting pages and in addition to all the sub-pages like shipping. This costs a lot of time and there might be errors by copy/paste. I had recently this problem that something was not updated and the customer wanted to have the shipping for the lower price (a few 10 cents, so it doesn't killed me).

I do not know what's the easiest way for me and also for the users.

    Regards,
    Oliver.
  • The problem with having cross domain content on the same page, is that adblock may prevent it from being shown.
