Excel experts, help please
I am fairly good with excel.
Here is my problem using Excel 2010 Professional:
I create a formula (even a simple addition) does not work. It only shows the formula. I have checked the "on/off" show formula setting and it should show the sum and not the formula. What is wrong?
Also, I have formatted the cells to show US dollar currency. I have also selected the option to show the $ sign. Yet it does not show the sign.
I can create the formulas/currency settings on my other computers with no problems but I can not do it on the computer I use most.
Any suggestions?

Tools > Options > Calcualtion Tab then check that Automatic Calculation is enabled

I was pressing the button for the quotes for the ' symbol and not the ` one.
Now I can continue working on my spreadsheets.
