  • Hello,

I would like the possibility to add items to my wish list in any colors, not just a specific one.

    Thanks,
    CB
  • @ljames,

Declaring shipping methods for large packages in a US store is not really fitting. USPS works with length+girth, not length x height x width.
For US store, adding a Region "USA" and "North America (Canada/Mexico)" would help.

    Thanks,
    CB
  • Hi CB,

Thank you for your suggestions, I've added regions for USA and North America. I will add your other requests the development list.
  • @ljames,

Sorry, will probably post many of those messages as I setup my store :)

Could we have a list of Country we do(n't) ship ? So only those countries will show up in the shipping methods
(Or a way to duplicate an existing shipping method)

Is there a way to automatically add insurance to a shipping cost, either as a % of the order value or in ranges.

    Thanks,
    CB
  • Is there any way to specify shipping cost for parcels without making a new shipping method for every single country? Romanian post rates are different for every country, it would take ages to set them one by one.

Is there a way to have the "add to wish list" button in an area as convenient as the placement of the "inventory" and "part out" buttons?

I don't like having to tab to the wish list section and then make another click on the button. I would think your users make many more "add to wish list" clicks than "inventory" and "part out" in a particular session. JMO.

Great site and thanks for listening. Look forward to it gaining momentum!
  • @CB I will add shipping method duplication to help with setting up lots of different methods. Unfortunately at the moment all the price changing for the rates is manual but we may give some better options for that in the future.

@vitreolum Would duplicating existing shipping methods help you or are you referring to something else?

@talorien Good idea, I've added this to the list
  • Thanks for the hard work you put in to get this website going. Are you planning to allow the sale of custom LEGO products? For instance, I sell custom LEGO element kits and am always seeking new avenues to show and sell them.

    Chris
  • Hey,

We intend to support custom items in the future, both branded items through the catalog and then other types of custom items just in stores. This is not yet available though unfortunately.
  • Thanks. Good to hear that you have plans for more functionality. I look forward to it :)

  • Filling a cart with lots of bits is a pain right now. I like the Bricklink functionality where you can scroll through 50 unique lots at a time and type in the numbers of how many you want. You can organize it by part, color, etc. Here, I can only add 1 type of element to my cart at a time. I hope this will be reconsidered.

  • Brick Owl thinks I am in the UK. My address and store both state US. Is there an IP reading issue or is it just not populating the location well?

    Brian
  • ^ I was also located in the UK by default.
  • Sort of sets and parts should include number as an option.

Also tedious to see "LEGO" at the beginning of every description line. Can it be factored out as an assumed constant?
  • Addresses need to allow for a company name for those of us operating as a company and not just as an individual.

  • A wishlist that cannot be applied to a specific store's inventory is useless.
  • In inventory, the page first shows some collapsed summaries (parts, sets, etc.) but then immediately explodes every line. Would be nice to make that collapsed by default and allow you to drill in if you want.

Can we do mass updates to the BrickOwl inventory? Mark multiple as "not for sale" or change a % sale?

  • On BL inventory import, recognise the "stockroom" flags and automatically mark those as "not for sale".
  • I did not find a way to upload a brickstore format file that did not have bricklink lot id's.

If somewhere I did not see please point it out, if not existing it would be very helpful to have.
  • Just wanted to say hello and thanks for all the work you're putting into this! Bricklink was way overdue for a facelift and the layout/graphics of Brick Owl seem much more up to date.
  • Just tried to place an order in my own store. I did not get an error until I made it all the way to the Paypal login screen. Not sure how this is handled for other payment methods, but the error should be earlier in the process. Such as when I click on the checkout button.
  • OMG, the import REALLY needs to recognize stockroom settings! Things are in stockroom for a reason! I use stockroom for items that I have been unable to find when pulling previous orders, so now I have live inventory that I may or may not have.

Good thing I only imported my parts inventory. Having to manually track down and delete any stockroom items is still going to suck.
  • I'm not clear on how to just create an inventory item without it being an import. Until I understand how things work here I am not sure I want to inhale my whole BL inventory.

Also I'm not clear on how to set shipping up. I don't want to allow instant checkout at this time, I want to process the order and charge actual shipping costs, as I do on BL.
  • Would it be possible to include the LOTID in order notification emails (seller version)? This would allow parsing for those that wish to process their inventory data.
  • Once it is possible to sync with stockrooms, it would also be practical to have multiple stockrooms, like on Bricklink. Also, I would like to see an easier and quicker way to differentiate between available and not available items when on "View Inventory". Something like buttons at the top of the page: All Items, Available Items, Stockroom A Items, etc. You could then in one click view all items in Stockroom B, and only those.

I've signed up and imported my BL inventory, all seemed to work well. I'm impressed with what you've achieved here, well done.

Of course, nothing's perfect right, especially on launch ;-)

My initial suggestion would be to improve the home page, it just doesn't look right to me with the left/right aligned panels. It needs something more above the fold to draw you in.

Another though, each store has it's own basket right? Any thoughts on having a single basket across multiple sellers and checking the whole lot out in one go?
  • A suggestion for the forum:
Right now, if I try to open a forum page in a new tab, that page immediately redirects to the main forum page. I frequently open pages in new tabs, and I'd like to be able to do so here.
  • The "condition" filters are counting sets not for sale. Here's an example. Looks like 3 people have this set as new, but marked not for sale.

  • ^ Price history "current" is also including items not for sale using that same example.
  • @DadsAFOL good spot, that's fixed.

With regards to the other suggestions in this thread, it's got a bit long so I won't respond individually but they will all be dealt with. I'll close this now and if you want you can make separate threads.
