Package dimensions

When creating a new shipping method the box dimension must be entered in millimeters. In the US we use inches. If we are based in the US I think it should default to Inches. To go even further, maybe have the dimensions of the box be customizable so you can enter it in any length you want. Place a drop down and choose from mm, in, cm and any other length people may prefer.

I had to use a converter in Google to figure out the size of my box from inches to millimeters.

Just a thought,

  • Same for weight. Sorry that we in the US are so archaic and still use inches and ounces, but it's how the Post Office thinks. I looked at a sample shipping setup and it was all in grams. it would be a fair amount of work to convert to ounces to get pricing to match the PO
  • 8 years later, the dimensions on the shipping method now take account of your units preference.
  • Awesome, Lawrence! I just sucked it up and converted when I setup in 2018, but it's nice to see this is addressed for my fellows in the US! :-) (is it bad to say I am still bummed that having gone thru metrics conversion in the 70s/80s in school and how much EASIER it is with everything in tens, how disappointed I am we went back to imperial? Gosh, we're stubborn <s>).
