Online dispute resolution - business obligation for EU sellers

@Lawrence - I have raised this issue previously but as time goes by, EU-based traders selling on BO are falling behind in their compliance with EU regulations. It's a struggle to find an EU-based seller on BO who complies with the Consumer Rights Directive, effective 2014, and this is just one of several that traders must comply with. The thing is, much of this could be automated by the BO platform, just as Ebay automates various things to help traders comply.

A further example, since February 2016, all online traders who sell goods or services to consumers in the EU must provide consumers with the following information: (1) a link to the ODR platform, irrespective of whether they currently market their products or services to consumers in other member states; (2) an email address on their website so that consumers have a first point of contact. These obligations apply regardless whether you sell via your own website or a platform such as Ebay/BO.

In the UK, failure to comply with this can result in action from Trading Standards, and ultimately, an unlimited fine and two years imprisonment.

Such regulation isn't going to go away. BO could be a market leader in allowing sellers to easily comply with such regulations.
